Iraq urges Syria to release Iraqi TV channel official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi National Security Advisor Muwaffaq al-Rubaie urged the Syrian government to reveal the circumstances surrounding the detention of an Iraqi television channel official, calling for her immediate release. “The Iraqi side is waiting for the outcome of contacts with the Syrian side…,” according to a statement released by Rubaie’s office and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Nine days ago, the head of al-Fayhaa Channel’s office in Syria, Hayfaa al-Husseini, was arrested in the Syrian capital’s area of al-Mazza during a raid on the office.
