Govt. oil policy “failure” – Barazani

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barazani said the Kurds are enjoying the right to self-determination, dubbing as “failure” the Iraqi government’s oil policy. “The region is currently exporting 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil, which should go up to 1 million barrels during the next three years,” Barazani said during a symposium hosted by the London-based Chatham House on Friday. “The Baghdad oil policy is a failure. Some $8 billion were spent to refurbish the oil sector but no single refinery has been built and moreover the production level retreated,” Barazani was quoted as published on the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG)’s official web site.
