Commander al-Karawi killed while pursuing Al-Qaeda terrorists

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Defense clarified that the Commander Mohamed al-Karawi was killed while he was pursuing Al-Qaeda members to the west of Anbar province.

The Ministry of Defense declared in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The late commander was killed along with several security elements were at Wadi Horan chasing the terrorists and destroying their shelter.”

”The aircrafts of the Iraqi Air-Forces shelled the terrorists shelter then Karawi and his colleagues started to hunt them down across the rough roads and meanwhile the process an Improvised Explosive Device went off killing the Commander and several of his colleagues while other security elements were wounded,” the statement added.”Karawi and his accompanying security elements put the interest of Iraqis at the top of their priorities and they sacrificed themselves to achieve their goals,” the statement concluded.
