Maliki appreciates sacrifice of brave security elements confronting terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister and Commanding General of the Iraq Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, described the death of the Shurqat Police Commander and other police and Army elements in Salah-il-Din province as “A new page in the honor record of the Iraqi soldiers during their battle against terrorism.”

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited Saturday “The martyrdom of Colonel Ahmed al-Batawi, the Commander of Shurqat Police Department, and other heroes from Iraqi police and Army during the recent events in Salah-il-Din province during their fighting and raiding the shelters of terrorism adds a new page for the record of honor of the Iraqi brave soldiers who fight the battle of honor against the groups of killers and terrorists and sacrifice their souls to defend Iraq and its people.”
