Kurdistan Region tests new oil pipeline to Turkey
(IraqiNews.com) The Turkish Minister of Energy, Tanir Yaldiz, announced the experimental trial of a new oil pipeline extended from Kurdistan Region towards the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Turkey signed many agreements with the Kurdistan Regional Government that allows Kurdistan Region to export oil and gas to the global markets across Turkey. This aroused the rage of the Iraqi Federal Government considering such conventions as unconstitutional.
The Turkish Minister reported in a press statement ”The date of the start of operating the new oil pipeline will be identified within the discussions of the next week, then the pipeline will be operated practically.”
According to officials within Kurdistan Region ”The oil pipeline, which was built by Kurdistan Region, is scheduled to be operated in December 2013.”
