Jordan intensifies security measures on Iraqi-Jordanian borders

(IraqiNews.com) The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan intensified security measures on its borders with Iraq due to increase of al-Qaeda activities and armed groups at these areas.

Jordanian Ministerial sources reported in a press statement on Monday “The Jordanian Government decided to impose intensive security measures on the Iraqi-Jordanian borders named (Karama) in order to eliminate dangers of the armed groups affiliated to al-Qaeda Terrorist Organization present on the Iraqi territories.”

“The Commander of the Guards Forces within the Jordanian Armed Forces, Brigadier Hussein al-Ziyod, conducted on Tuesday along with a military delegation a visit to check the Iraqi-Jordanian borders,” the source added.
