Urgent / Amr Moussa arrives in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, arrived in Baghdad on Monday, the foreign ministry undersecretary said. “ Moussa’s visit will be an opportunity to discuss Arab issues, mainly the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza and the verdict announced by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the Sudanese president,” Labied Abbawi said. “ The Arab league plays an important role and could be activated to play a bigger role regarding efforts exerted to realize the national reconciliation and increasing the Arab diplomatic and political presence in Iraq,” he added. The Arab League had announced on Friday (Mar. 13) that Moussa will pay a visit to Iraq next week to hold talks with senior Iraqi officials. SH (P) /SR 1
