18 Persons killed, wounded in Balad district

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) About (18) persons were either killed or wounded when a motorbike bomb went off in Ishaqi area of southern Tikrit city.Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The motorbike bomb, which was left near a football playground, exploded in Ishaqi area within Balad district of southern Tikrit city.””The explosion resulted in killing a police Major, two policemen and two civilians while (13) persons were wounded due to the explosion,” the source added.”The security forces blocked off the explosion area, transporting the dead bodies to the morgue and the wounded people to the hospital for treatment,” the source concluded. \END\
