Suspected killer of 3 officers in Salah al-Din captured

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A man suspected of involvement in the murder of three officers was arrested by security authorities south of the city of Tikrit on Sunday, a security source in Salah al-Din said. “Quick Intervention Department (QID) forces today (Feb. 15) arrested one of the persons involved in killing three officers in the district of Balad, (100 km) south of Tikrit,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The detainee, who was born in Iran, has been captured after collecting intelligence that he killed three officers: two in the former Iraqi army and one in the rank of major in the National Police Force,” the source added. “The man is also suspected of slaying four family members in the district,” he said, noting the suspect is now under investigative custody.
