Urgent – Security element dies due to severe wounds during arresting Alwani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An element of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate participated in the security operation of arresting MP, Ahmed al-Alwani, died due to his severe wounds.Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The element participated in Alwani’s arrest operation suffered a gun shot that resulted in killing him.”The Media Advisor of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate, Samier al-Showely, reported to IraqiNews.com “The security forces were not heading towards Alwani’s house since they were sent to Albo Alwan area, to arrest several wanted individuals from the protest yard.””Gunmen along with MP Alwani himself attacked the security forces by heavy gunshots from Alwani’s house,” he added, noting that ”MP Alwani was firing shots from machinegun weapon.”

The Anti-Terrorism Directorate revealed the involvement of MP, Ahmed al-Alwani, in killing and wounding four security elements who were implementing an arrest warrant against his brother, Ali al-Alwani, who is wanted for judicial authority in Ramadi city of central Anbar province.The Army forces arrested MP, Ahmed al-Alwani, after armed clashes with him, that resulted in killing his brother, in accordance with a judicial warrant arrest issued against him. \END\
