Sudan offers to build oil refinery in Iraq – market its derivatives

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Sudanese Government expressed its intention to build an oil refinery and marketing the oil derivatives through the African markets.

Shahristani’s media office reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristani hosted the Sudanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mohamed Omar Musa, and they discussed the means of promoting bilateral relations in fields of economy, agriculture and the livestock.”

”Shahristani emphasized the keenness of the Iraqi Government in supporting the Republic of Sudan by considering any projects suggested by Sudan in accordance with adopted criteria by the Iraqi ministry of Oil,” the statement added.”

The Sudanese Ambassador revealed that Sudan is ready to build an oil refinery that will become a base for refining the Iraqi oil and marketing the oil derivatives across the African markets,” the statement concluded.
