Nijaifi, Hakim discuss settling Anbar crisis, latter calls resigned MPs to return
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, and the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, discussed the means of settling the current crisis in Anbar province.
A statement by Nijaifi’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Nijaifi stressed the necessity of finding a political solution and confirmed his support for fighting Qaeda but through correct way.”
“For his part, Hakim emphasized the importance of starting a serious dialogue to reach a comprehensive agreement among national rivals over fighting al-Qaeda,” the statement added.
“Hakim called the resigned MPs to return to parliament,” the statement concluded.
