Higher Education Ministry starts human rights office

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: For the first time, a center for human rights cases was opened at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to impede discrimination and violence against women, the minister said on Wednesday. “The center organizes educational programs as a first step to eliminate all forms of discrimination and violence against women,” Abid Thiab al-Ajeeli said during a workshop that was attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The ministry supports and honors the distinguished women working for it,” he added.
