$196,780 in aid for displaced families in Hamdaniya
NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The displaced & emigration department in al-Hamdaniya on Sunday distributed the second batch of financial aid given by the cabinet, amounting to 220 million Iraqi dinars ($196,780), to 400 displaced families in the district, a department source said. “Each family received 550,000 Iraqi dinars ($492). The first batch of assistance saw each displaced family receiving 850,000 Iraqi dinars ($760),” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. More than 10,000 families were displaced to al-Hamdaniya, 30 km east of Mosul, after acts of violence that targeted Christians there in the end of September 2008 before the federal government intervened to wield security power in Ninewa. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
