Effect of armed conflicts on children in workshop in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Interior, in coordination with civil society organizations in Basra, held on Wednesday a workshop about the phenomenon of recruiting children and the effects that armed conflicts have on their behavior, according to the workshop’s supervisor. “The workshop aims at disseminating cultural awareness that opposes the use of children in armed operations,” Attorney Wassfi al-Shareaa told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Such cases have appeared in Iraq due to the instabile condition, and the presence of different armed groups,” He added.
