Jobless training course closes in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Basra-based Business Information Center on Thursday finished its two-week training course for unemployed young men, according to the center’s executive director. “The course is the center’s second so far this year,” Engineer Qays Alkam al-Maliki told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that more than 30 unemployed persons have participated in it. “Another course will begin this Sunday as part of a 12-course program that aims to include the largest number of jobless people,” he added. The Business Information Center is a civil society organization that began operating in 2004. The Shiite city of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
