Kurdish Minister defends financial independence of Kurdistan Region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Justice within Kurdistan Regional Government, Sherwan al-Haydari, stated that “The discussions between Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government over the oil exporting from the Region and the State Budget is a normal matter for regions in any State.”

Haydari reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The current discussions are normal in any State that adopt a Federal system to obtain the financial independence for its citizens since the Constitution grants this right.”

”The law express the will of the people within the legal and constitutional rights which was identified by 17% of the State Budget in order to pay the salaries of the Peshmerga forces and compensate the Kurds for their suffer throughout years,” he concluded.
