Concrete barricades removed from Falluja streets
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Concrete barricades will be removed from several main streets in Falluja, the city’s police chief said on Wednesday. “The barricades will be removed as part of a campaign in accordance with instructions from the interior minister,” Col. Mahmoud al-Issawi told IraqiNews.com news agency. The campaign aims to reduce traffic congestion in the city, the official explained. Falluja, the largest city in Anbar province, was a scene of armed conflict between U.S. and Iraqi forces on the one hand and al-Qaeda gunmen on the other. Falluja is 45 km west of Baghdad; while Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar province, lies 110 km west of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
