Al-Rubaei, NATO official review supporting Iraqi forces

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Muwafaq al-Rubaei, on Monday received Martin Howard, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations, and his accompanying delegation. “The meeting tackled means to strengthen the capabilities of Iraqi armed forces,” according to a statement released from al-Rubaei’s office received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Iraqi official asserted that Iraq seeks to speed up building its forces to end the foreign presence on its territories,” the statement added. “The two officials also reviewed the role played by the NATO in supporting and training the Iraqi forces and the preparation for the NATO secretary general’s visit to the country,” it added.
