Larijani: Campaign against terrorism needs regional cooperation

Baghdad (Forat) The Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani condemned terrorist measures and assassination attempt on lives of his Iraqi counterpart Osama al-Nijaifi and his brother.

A statement by Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) received by IraqiNews.com quoted him as saying “Campaign against terrorism needs regional cooperation.”

According to the statement Larijani said that he was happy the assassination attempt was abortive. He also assured that undoubtedly, terrorism is a serious threat to security, calm and progress of the entire regional nations and added that campaign against terrorism requires collective cooperation at regional level.” He underlined that Islamic Republic of Iran’s principled policy is based on campaign against terrorist groups, saying that Iran is ready for mutual cooperation in the field.
