Sadr car bomb toll reaches 40

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Casualties from the car bomb blast that ripped though Baghdad’s Sadr city earlier today have reached 40, including women and children, the Iraqi police said on Monday. “The toll from the car bomb explosion that occurred near Sadr city’s al-Dakhel market, northeastern Baghdad, reached 10 dead, including two women, and 30 wounded persons, including women and children,” a police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Earlier in the day, a police source said that a car bomb detonated near a gas station in Sadr city’s al-Dakhel area, northeastern Baghdad, killing one civilian and wounding five others. Five blasts hit the Iraqi capital today, leaving dozens of people killed or wounded. SS (P) 1
