Habaniya base attacker wore uniform, says defense ministry

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The suicide bomber that carried out an attack inside a training center of al-Habaniya base, western Falluja city, was clad in military uniform, according to an Iraqi defense ministry statement on Thursday. “A group of recruits of the 1st Division came under a suicide attack by a gunman wearing military uniform while they were returning from training at the center in al-Habaniya base,” read the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Earlier, a medic from the Ramadi Hospital said that casualties of the suicide bombing attack rose to 18 deaths and 50 injuries, estimating the death toll is likely to rise as 10 of the wounded are in a critical condition. Falluja is 45 km west of Baghdad, while Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar, is 110 km west of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
