Nijaifi, Tayfor welcomes Kurdistan Region’s decision over transferring Halabcha district into province

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, welcomed the decision of the Kurdistan regional Government to transfer Halabcha district into a province.

A joint statement by Nijaifi and Tayfor’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “This decision coincided with the 26th anniversary of Halabcha massacre that resulted in killing and injuring thousands of the citizens by the chemical weapons,” noting that “Making it as a province is within the authorities of the Kurdistan RegionG and according to Article 115 of the constitution where we hope the citizens of Halabcha to live in peace and all the best.”
