Sadr meets Ayatollah, Sistani, in Najaf

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, met Ayatollah, Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, at his residence in Najaf province on Sunday.

A source close to Sistani’s office stated to IraqiNews.com “Ayatollah, Sistani, received Sadr at his house in Najaf where discussed the general situation in the country and the upcoming elections.”

“The meeting that lasted for about an hour tackled the necessity of urging citizens to participate in the elections and to nominate the best candidates to create change,” the source added.

The visit has been considered as the first of its type since several years.
