Abdul Mahdi denies visiting Erbil to form front against Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The leading figure within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Adil Abdul Mahdi denied the news over holding a meeting in Erbil to form a front against the Prime Minister, Nouri Al-Maliki.

A statement by Mahdi’s office recieved by IraqiNews.com cited “Certain news agency has reported a news attributed to the Kurdish MP, Hamid Bafi, who said that “Each of President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and Head of the National Coalition, Ayad Allawi and the prominent character of the SIIC, Mahdi have met to form ant-Maliki front to prevent him from winning third term.”

“This news is utterly groundless and no meeting has been held in Erbil or any elsewhere,” according to the statement/ End/
