London conf. on Iraq investments launched

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The London-based conference on investment opportunities in Iraq opened on Thursday with the participation of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. The conference, organized by the U.K. Ministry of Development, is presided over by Deputy Premier Barham Saleh. Maliki is scheduled to give a speech, entitled ‘Investment in Iraq: London 2009’. The Iraqi minister of oil, Hussein al-Shahrestani, the minister of industry and resources, Fawzi al-Hariri and several British figures, including the UK minister for international development, Douglas Alexander, have attended the event.
