8 policemen wounded in Kirkuk blast

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Eight security personnel from the Kirkuk Districts’ Police Department were wounded on Sunday when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near their patrol in the southern part of the city, the KDPD chief said. “The policemen were injured while they were on duty near al-Bahrain souks (markets) in southern Kirkuk,” Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said two of the wounded are in critical condition. The oil-rich city of Kirkuk lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
