Dhi-Qar sends 5000 volunteers to fighting fronts

Dhi-Qar (IraqiNews.com) The local government of Dhi-Qar province confirmed on Sunday sending 5000 volunteers to the areas of the military operations in Samarra, Tikrit and Mosul city.

Governor of Dhi-Qar Yehya al-Nasiri stated to IraqiNews.com “The volunteering centers registered more than 50,000 volunteers all over Dhi-Qar province from which we sent only 5000 fighters and the Command of Armed Forces informed us that the current number of the armed forces at the fighting fronts is enough to defeat the terrorist groups.”

“The local government would not send more volunteers until we get new information from the General Command of the Iraqi Forces,” he added.

Governor Nasiri pointed out that “The volunteering centers continue receiving the volunteers all over the administration units,” expecting the number of volunteers to reach 100,000 persons.”
