6 al-Naqshabandiya group members detained near Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Joint security forces on Thursday arrested eight people, including six members of the so-called “al-Naqshabandiya group” in the southwest of Kirkuk, according to a security source. “A joint force launched a security raid late on Wednesday (April 15) until the small hours of Thursday (April 16), during which eight people, including six members of the self-styled al-Naqshabandiya group were arrested in al-Zeraaa neighborhood in central al-Huwiyja, southwest of Kirkuk,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
