18 IEDs, munitions seized in Missan

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: The Missan police forces seized 18 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and munitions in central al-Amara city on Friday, according to the province’s police department’s relations & information chief. “The IEDs were concealed in the area of Abu Rimaneh, central Amara,” Col. Sadeq Sallam told IraqiNews.com news agency. He added that an Iraqi army and police force seized the munitions inside a farm in Qalaat Saleh district, 45 km south of Amara. “They included 12 mortar shells of 82 mm. caliber, 22 hand-grenades, Mortar mark-shooting device, 1,000 bullets of 14.5 mm. caliber, three Kalashnikov assault rifles and two boxes of Kalashnikov ammunition,” added Sallam.
