Maliki must not run for 3rd term – Muqtada al-Sadr Speech

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Monday the Cleric Moqtada al-Sadr described the parliament session scheduled for tomorrow, as “fateful”, and he urged the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to not run for a third term of office.

Sadr said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com that “the first session of parliament with new representatives will be held on Tuesday,” adding that the meeting “this is a fateful session that must be convened on time. According to my knowledge of the Iraqi people, they are waiting impatiently for their suffering to end, they are waiting for security and they are waiting for public services to be restored.”
