VP, PM discuss foreign relations, economic situation

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi at his office in Baghdad discussed Iraq’s foreign relations and the economic situation with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, according to a statement of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) media website. “The Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Thursday, March 26 met with the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki at his office in the Presidential Palace in Baghdad,” the statement said. Iraq’s foreign relations, the economic situation, providing job opportunities and the International Financial Crisis were the key issues of their meeting. The vice president asserted the importance of preparation to attend important conferences, including the coming Arab summit in Doha. For his part, Prim Minister Nouri al-Maliki underlined that Iraq will boost its relations with other countries in the world. The prime minister said that Iraq has to assume its role as an important country in the regional and international level. SH (P) 1
