Kurdistan’s parliament postpones provincial councils law debate

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Kurdistan’s parliament, under Speaker Adnan al-Mufti, on Tuesday decided to postpone the debate on the provincial councils draft law because of objections made by some lawmakers. “The postponement came because of the absence of Interior Minister, Othman Haji Mahmoud, and we will hold a session next week which will be attended by Kurdish Prime Minister, Negervan Barzani, and his deputy,” al-Mufti told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A number of lawmakers protested against some articles of the draft law, the matter the forced us to postpone the session,” he added.
