Acting FM, Italian Foreign Undersecretary discuss situation of displaced citizens

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hussain Al Shihristani, received in his office on August 6, 2014 Italian Foreign Undersecretary, Labi Bastili, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary, Nizar Al Khairullah, and the Italian Ambassador in Baghdad, Massimo Maruti.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by Iraqi News cited “The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations at all levels, the current situation in Iraq and the region, and the efforts of the Iraqi government to overcome the difficulties faced by the displaced and reduce their suffering.”

“For his part, Bastili stressed his country’s support to the people and Government of Iraq in its war against terrorism to preserve the unity of the Iraqi people with all its components,” the statement concluded. /End/
