URGENT: Moqtada al-Sadr reveals that terrorist organizations finished preparations to enter Baghdad, affirms willingness to defend it and holy sites of all religions

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Friday the Shia cleric, Moqtada al-Sadr, revealed that some “terrorist organizations” have completed preparations to enter the capital Baghdad and that he is willing to recruit fighters to defend the capital, in coordination with government agencies.

Sadr said, in a statement received by IraqiNews.com that “we received intelligence information that some terrorist organizations completed preparations to enter the beloved capital Baghdad,” adding that “in terms of peace and the defense of holy sites of all religious group, we are fully prepared to collect the fighters to defend it in coordination with some government agencies. ”

al-Sadr said “the government agreed that must accelerate our efforts,” stressing that “if this attack happens, we will be ready to protect the borders of Baghdad and its gates in addition to defend its holy sites, mosques, churches and houses of worship.”

The religious authority warned, earlier on Friday (8 August 2014), the intentions of the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, stressing the need to unite Iraqis in front of “great danger” that threatens the present and future.
