VP says his visit to Arbil to reconcile viewpoints

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi on Saturday said that his visit to Arbil city aims to reconcile points of view on contentious issues between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG). “I have raised points to reconcile viewpoints on pending issues…,” Abdulmahdi said in statements to IraqiNews.com news agency, highlighting the necessity of avoidning misunderstanding. On Friday (April 3), Abdulmahdi arrived in Arbil to discuss the general situation in Iraq with the president of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Massoud al-Barazani. Kirkuk and the oil contracts signed between the regional government and foreign companies are the most contentious issues between the two governments. Abdulmahdi was received at Arbil International Airport by the prime minister of the region, Negervan al-Barazani, and the head of the region’s presidential office, Fouad Hussein. SS (P) 1
