MoD: ISF clear Himreen mountains in Diyala

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Defense confirmed clearing the Himreen Mountains in Diyala province from the terrorist groups.

A statement by the MoD received by IraqiNews.com cited on Saturday “The command of the Fifth Infantry Iraqi Army Division launched a security operation to defuse an attack for the terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant to target Diyala province from its northern borders,” noting that “The military operation resulted clearing the Himreen Mountains after setting an ambush for the terrorist groups and eliminating the terrorists in the area.”

It is worth to mention that the Iraqi Security Forces and the volunteers are fighting the terrorist groups in Diyala and succeeded to clear several areas such as Adhim district. /End/
