Acting Defense Minister, Barzani discuss latest security updates in Iraq

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani discussed with the Acting Minister of Defense, Saadoun al-Dulaimi and his entourage, the joint coordination to combat terrorism and gangs of the Islamic State (IS).

A statement by the presidency of the region said, “Barzani received al-Dulaimi, in the Salah al-Din resort in Erbil and discussed the security situation and steps to confront the terrorists on the battlefield.”

The statement added: “The views of the two sides were identical in relation to the need for joint and coordination action between all parties and international support in the fight against terrorism, because it is a threat to all.”

About terrorism threats to the Kurdistan region, al-Dulaimi expressed concern about these threats, stressing: “The region is safe and it is a model for other parts of Iraq,” describing the region’s position as firm and brave.  Saadoun al-Dulaimi arrived at Erbil yesterday afternoon, and was received at Erbil International Airport by the Minister of Peshmerga and a number of military commanders.
