Maliki: Federal Court will reverse violations to Iraq’s constitution

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The outgoing Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said on Tuesday that the judiciary could address the constitutional violation and correct the error according to the constitutional contexts and the rule of the Federal Court, stressing the need to protect the constitution and prevent overtaking it.

Maliki said, in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, during a meeting of senior commanders, officers in the army, police and security services,that “the Iraqi judiciary could address the constitutional violation and correct the error according to the constitutional contexts and the rule of the Federal Court.”

Maliki confirmed the need to “protect the Constitution, abide by it and to prevent overtaking it in the form that has put Iraq in front of a new setback not less than then the danger of the setback of Mosul,” noting that “the solution to the crisis in Iraq is not limited to the security aspect, but accompanied by political, economic solutions, and architectural, social and others.”
