FM welcomes Swedish plan to reopen embassy

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Wednesday said that he welcomes a Swedish government plan to reopen its embassy in Iraq, saying the step will help develop mutual relations, particularly in the economic field. “Today, Zebari received in his Baghdad-based office the Swedish ambassador to Iraq, Niclas Trouvé, and discussed with him means of developing bilateral relations…,” according to a statement published on the official web site of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. The web site quoted the Swedish envoy as stressing his country’s plan to reopen its embassy in the capital Baghdad within the coming few weeks. Zebari said that the reopening of the embassy will pave the way for a larger presence of Swedish companies in Iraq. SS (P) 1
