Muqtada al-Sadr: America is occupier, rejects its intervention in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Friday the Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr denounced American intervention and declared America “an occupying power” that should not interfere in the affairs of Iraq, while he expressed his acceptance of air of friendly countries if the Iraqi government requests it.

Al-Sadr said, in an interview with the Sky News channel that “I don’t prefer the intervention of the occupying countries in Iraqi affairs”, stressing that “It’s hard to say that I agree with the intervention of America; It is still an occupying country”.

Al-Sadr, added that “the assistance of the friendly countries is accepted if it is requested by the government.”
