Deputy premier discusses with U.S. diplomat Iraqi refugees’ condition

Iraq-Refugees BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister Rafeaa al-Eissawi on Thursday discussed with a U.S. diplomat the conditions of Iraqi refugees and displaced people in the country, according to a statement released by al-Eissawi’s office. “The Iraqi official called to foster cooperation between the two countries to limit the social and economic difficulties facing Iraqi refugees in the U.S. and in some Western countries considering the economic recession in these countries,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “He stressed the importance of encouraging those who want to return to Iraq, mainly those who have rare scientific experience which could help in the reconstruction operations in the country,” it added. For his part, U.S. Ambassador Ford, who is the responsible for the refugees file at the U.S. embassy, said that the U.S. government worked to present aides and to respond to the humanitarian needs of the Iraqi refugees and those who are displaced in Iraq.
