Syrian PM to visit Baghdad Tuesday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Otri will pay an official visit to Iraq on Tuesday upon an invitation from his Iraqi counterpart Nouri al-Maliki, the official spokesman for the Iraqi government Ali al-Dabagh said on Monday. “The Syrian premier will chair the joint Iraqi-Syrian Higher Committee’s meeting which will be attended by Syrian ministers of oil, finance, interior, economy, health, transport, electricity, housing and industry,” al-Dabagh said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Syrian delegation will have talks with Iraqi senior officials,” he added. “The visiting delegation will sign several agreements to boost cooperation in finance and trade fields,” he also said. Otri has underlined the importance of the issues and topics of cooperation scheduled to be discussed during the government delegation’s visit to Iraq tomorrow, Tuesday (April 21), in the framework of the Syrian-Iraqi Higher Committee meetings, the Syrian news agency (SANA) said. Presiding a cabinet session on Monday (April 20) Otri expressed optimism regarding the outcome of these meetings on the level of boosting bilateral cooperation with the restoration of warmth and vitality to the standing relations catering the two brotherly peoples and countries in various domains.
