Aircraft drop leaflets warning Salahuddin residents from approaching ISIS gatherings, Tikrit headquarters
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, According to a security source in Salahuddin province, jets dropped leaflets warning residents to not approach gatherings of the militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “on Wednesday evening military warplanes dropped leaflets in Arabic and English warning civilians from approaching the gathering places of the elements ISIS and asked them to stay away from the headquarters of the insurgents in Tikrit, the center of Salah ad Din province.”
The head of the Salahuddin Provincial Council, Ahmed Karim, announced on Tuesday (9 September 2014), the progress and deployments of the government security forces to areas controlled by the militants ISIS in the central and the northeast of Dhuluiya, stressing that the security forces would launch a major offensive to liberate it fully.
