VP urges tighter security to prevent bombings

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi on Sunday called on the security apparatus to introduce tight measures in an attempt to prevent further bombings. The statement came two days following suicide bombings that ripped through the Iraqi capital and claimed the lives of nearly 60 persons, including 25 Iranians. On Thursday (April 23), another bombing targeted Iranian pilgrims in Diala province, killing around 53 and wounding 37 others. Abdulmahdi urged local authorities to carry out an in-depth probe into the attacks and to reveal the identity of the perpetrators. SS (P) 1
