Voting on president’s salary bill postponed – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Member of the parliament’s financial committee, Sami al-Atroushi, said on Thursday that voting on the Iraqi president’s salary draft law has been postponed during Thursday’s session held under Speaker Iyad al-Samarraie. “The parliament decided to adjourn voting on the draft law as the financial committee asked to n on the salaries of prime minister and the speaker of the parliament to determine the president’s salary,” al-Atroushi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The president’s salary should be a little higher than the salary of prime minister as he is the highest post in the country,” he added. “The president’s salary reaches now 30 million Iraqi dinars with allocations reach 25 million Iraqi dinars,” he pointed out.
