Explosive belt, rockets seized in Falluja
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Monday seized an explosive belt ready for detonation and a number of roadside bombs and rockets south of Falluja, according to a police source. “A police force tracked down a group of suspects,” Major Yaseen Ismail told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The suspects were carrying an explosive belt which they left at a house in the area before they escaped,” he said. “After search and people’s cooperation, the force seized a weapons cache that consisted of 30 RPG7 missiles, 22 roadside bombs, 20 bombs, 18 mortar shells (120 mm) and nine anti-armor rockets,” he added. “The explosive belt was defused locally,” he noted. He stressed that security forces are still tracking down the “terrorists who fled the area to an unknown place.” Falluja city lies 45 km west of Baghdad. MH (P) / SS 1
