Turkey considers ground troops, President says it cannot stay out of the alliance against ISIS
Istanbul (IraqiNews.com) The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country cannot stay outside the international alliance, which seeks to defeat the organization ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
Erdogan said during a meeting of the World Economic Forum in Istanbul “we will hold talks with the relevant institutions this week. We will certainly be in the place where we should be; we cannot stay out of this matter.”
The Turkish president renewed his call for the establishment of a buffer zone and a no-fly zone in Syria to protect the Turkish border and the refugees, pointing to the possibility to use troops on the ground.
