ISIS gather militants to advance on Kirkuk says the governor

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) The governor of Kirkuk Karim Najmiddin said that ISIS is gathering forces at al-Huwayija and taking positions before attacking the province.

Najmiddin said, “The ISIS group has already taken large expanses of territories in al-Anbar, Salahuddin, Diyali, Nineveh and Kurdistan regions. They’re advancing on the province of Kirkuk.” He also called for reinforcements to be sent for the Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the province. ”

Earlier today, Najmiddin criticized Turkey’s position on ISIS besieging of the Syrian town of Kobani, calling President Erdogan to help the Kurds fighting ISIS militants who have seized already a third of the town.
