Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, thousands of refugees in Turkey fled from the violence occurring in the near town of Kobani and northern Iraq will be given humanitarian aid to help them cope with the weather.

Thousands of civilians fled from the violence will be provided with winter kits, blankets, mattresses and emergency aids to help them cope with the cold weather according to Reuters.

Anthony Sinnott, the director of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) said “With the rainy, cold and windy winter coming in the north of Iraq, we are ramping efforts to fulfill the immediate needs of the refugees when they arrive, such as food, water, clothing, and shelter.”

“In a short time, these refugees will look to find some means of providing for themselves, securing an education for their children, and restoring their sense of hope for the future,” he said.
